Green Tea Fruit Smoothie

The perfect light, summer smoothie, this is rich in antioxidants too, largely thanks to the green tea and berries. Zesty green tea adds a nice depth of flavour, making this not-just-your-average fruit smoothie. It’s rich in ‘theanine’ too, a compound which can help you feel calm and focused… Drink up!

Ingredients

  • 1 green teabag
  • 1/2 very ripe banana, frozen – peel and cut into chunks prior to freezing
  • ¼ cup frozen berries
  • juice of ½ an orange
  • 1 tsp chia seeds (this will make it nice and thick)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • handful ice cubes

Method

  1. Steep the green teabag in a mug of boiled water for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like it. Refrigerate for half an hour, or until cool.
  2. Add the cold brewed green tea, along with the banana, berries, orange juice, honey and ice cubes to a blender. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour into a tall glass, wine glass or jar if you’re on the go and enjoy 

D.I.Y SPICED Latte

If you’re trying to cut down on the coffee, a chai tea-infused ‘latte’ is a great ritual to start your morning - You’ll still get some caffeine from the black tea, but in a gentler dose than a cappuccino.

This is also much easier on your stomach and nervous system than a coffee, and fragrant spices like ginger and cinnamon give this a nice kick. No sugary powders here either - a loose-leaf chai blend is the secret ingredient…Thanks Life of Cha for the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Life of Cha SPICED tea
  • ½ cup boiling water
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)

Method

  1. Place the SPICED tea in a strainer
  2. Pour boiling water over the tea and steep for 2-3min
  3. Add warm milk or frothy milk. For some natural sweetness, add a little honey.

‘Harry Potter’ Crystal Tea
