Roasted Coconut Vanilla Pears

Gluten Free, Sugar Free, Dairy Free these Baked Pears are so easy you don't event have to be a good cook to recreate them!

Ingredients

  • 4 large firm but ripe pears
  • 2 tablespoons Heilala Coconut Oil
  • 2 tablespoons liquid honey
  • 1 Heilala Vanilla Bean, split open
  • Grated zest of 1 orange
  • Vanilla of Coconut yoghurt to serve

Method | Serves 4

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C. Line a shallow roasting dish with baking paper.
  2. Place Heilala Coconut Oil and honey in a small saucepan and melt over a low heat.
  3. Halve pears and remove core (if wished). Place halved pears cut side down in the prepared dish with the Heilala Vanilla Bean.
  4. Drizzle pears with Heilala Coconut Oil and honey. Cover with baking paper and foil and place in the oven to roast for 25 minutes.
  5. Remove pears from oven and remove foil and paper. Turn pears over and baste.
  6. Return to oven uncovered for a further 20 minutes until pears are soft and flesh is translucent.
  7. Grate over orange zest and serve warm with vanilla yoghurt.
