Breakfast

I try to start my day with some form of gentle movement, whether it's a short
walk or some stretching with my little one. It really makes a big difference to the rest of your day ahead and gets positive energy moving and flowing throughout your body. If not a glass of fresh lemon juice in water (which is really hydrating and great in warmer months to support your body's natural ability to cleanse). I otherwise start with a mug of bone broth (to support gut health).

My two favourite breakfast meals at the moment are homemade sugar free granola with coconut yoghurt (recipe is in my Real Food Recipes e-book).

Or my Vitality Smoothie which fuels me for hours which is especially good when you have a very active 3-year-old! I add some hidden veggies to my smoothie for both myself and my little one too. Having a nourishing breakfast is important for balanced energy levels, to keep cravings at bay and helps to avoid overeating later in the day.

Lunch

I usually enjoy leftovers for lunch. I love making extra portions at dinner time for a nourishing lunch the next day (saves time and money!). At lunch, I like to get some fresh air and sunshine too, even if for just 10 mins. It feels rejuvenating and helps me refocus for the afternoon.

Dinner

I love to make a Nourish Bowl at dinner or the Live Love Nourish sugar free satay is also one of my favourites. (The sugar free satay recipe is in my free e-book). To make the nourish bowl I use a simple formula so that you can personalise to what you have in your fridge and your family’s favourite ingredients.

Start with 1/2 plate of low starch veggies (I love using kale, salad veggies, zucchini and/or cauliflower) + 1/4 plate your favourite protein (organic eggs, legumes or good quality chicken or fish) + 1/4 plate nourishing complex carbohydrates (my favourites are roast pumpkin, sweet potato, quinoa or buckwheat) + some healthy fat (always!) such as avocado, drizzle of extra virgin olive oil or nuts and seeds (for crunch factor!) This is my go-to formula for when I’m not sure what to cook. This way I know myself and family are nourishing our bodies regardless of how busy we are (especially with a 3-year-old!). It also takes the fuss out of dinner time. Just remember to make extras for lunch the next day! After dinner, I choose one or two of my favourite wind-down activities to do such as burning essential oils, having a relaxing bath, burning my favourite scented candle or having a soothing chamomile tea.

Snacks

I like to make sure snacks include healthy fat or some protein to satisfy and also support balanced blood sugar levels. Some of my favourite snacks are nuts, hummus, a low sugar smoothie or my sugar free gut friendly banana bread. I share some of my favourite snacks in my Real Food Recipes e-book including my secret recipe for sugar free, sweetener free brownies!! OMG! Yum!
